During this session, we will talkabout organizational principles, multimedia applications used in tandemwith Storyspace, Storyspace publishing on the Web, generaltroubleshooting, and finally, limitations of the software. In the final part of the session, I will demonstrate how to useStoryspace, and participants will have the opportunity to use it to createa small project using this software. Instructors will be given the opportunity todiscuss and develop a hypertext "rubric" and evaluate actual studenthypertext projects. This work includes personal writing-in the form ofautobiographical work analytical pieces, such as that analyzingliterature and graphic images and projects presenting historical andscientific information.Īlso in this part of the program, we will discuss how to evaluate thequality of hypertext, and the overall problem of how to grade and evaluatehypertext writing projects. Participants will also be provided with a short reader of keyarticles.ĭuring this portion, I will show examples of students' work usingStoryspace. Participants will have an opportunity to discusstheir own concerns and questions about teaching hypertext in the writingclassroom. Wewill look particularly at the arguments of Jay David Bolter, VannevarBush, and Michael Joyce.
